About me
Hi, my name is Colleen and I'm an addict. To knitting. And to yarn. But don't be fooled, that doesn't make me an expert knitter in any way, I simply have an insatiable passion for good wool. I spend a lot of my time scrolling socials for knitting posts, I stalk those knitters who I think are fabulous, I follow and receive newsletters from many other knitters, and I bookmark every online wool shop in Australasia. And I collect! Can I call it that? I am a collector of wool (some would call it obsessive, others call it hoarding!) but, I love my wool collection and yes, I do knit with it. It's not on my shelves for show. It's my inspiration and it fuels my passion.
So it's no surprise why I've ended up starting a yarn store. I'd love to have a physical shop but real estate is so expensive where we live, that it was too much of a risk, so I thought I'd start small, online, and see where that takes me. If I can make it work, then there are plans for a "wool truck" and who knows, I may get a real live shop in the end. But for now, I'm here, in a small space on your phone or computer, ready to inspire you to take the time to knit. There are so many benefits to knitting (or crochet) but that's a conversation for another time.
For most people, buying wool is about touching and feeling it, and I get that you can't do that online, so I will be taking my yarn selection to markets in the area, knitting groups and maybe even showing it from the back of my car (until I get that "truck"). I also plan to start knitting retreats in the area - for all skill levels. So reach out if you're interested. A weekend away in winter with wool, wine and wonderful women, well I can't imagine anything better. Can you?
